Ah well this reply is probably a bit late but Monday Midnight is the close off date. So no problem for photos and stuff to be taken/posted on Monday (today).
I'll then steal Dustans idea and post them up in 1 place with a poll for voting.
Please note that the WIP picture was only for fun (to keep us interested) so no penalty applies for not having one. So anyone that might have an existing piece of CD Terrain could use that as an entry no worries!
As for my piece it was painted on Saturday and the figure was painted Sunday morning. Im pretty happy with the blue/metal statue but it does come out much blueer in the picture than in real life. It wasn't quite the verdigres effect I was going for but it still looks cool!
The figure is one of those things that have been kicking around the bits box for a decade or so so Im really pleased to get it out their. Came up really well as a statue. Better than it would have looked as a daemon I reckon.
Burbsee The landspeeder looks great! just like its been abandoned in the wilds for years! Very well done!

I agree with Aaron, nice work burbsee! That landspeeder looks totally trashed and rusted out and then maybe scavenged over a few times by the locals for useable parts. Kinda reminds me of those WWII crashed bombers and fighters that people keep finding out in the middle of Pacific islands...hmmm or maybe those ruined trains from the same war out in the North African desert . I reckon this challenge has been a resounding success! Kudos to everybody that made an effort because I haven't seen a CD terrain piece that didn't grab me yet!

And I just noticed the 'impact trail' you left behind the landspeeder too. Very nice little touch

I'll then steal Dustans idea and post them up in 1 place with a poll for voting. Yep, top marks to dustand for that idea. I reckon that should be a requirement for all the future compos. And I said it earlier, but I agree with what stu just said - stunning output from all this time round. (apart from mine that is - keep watching )

Crikey I'm just glad I got in early and made an effort (unlike the first challenge)! It's going to be even harder to vote this time around I reckon...
And what the devil are we going to make the next challenge?

Here we go; The supposed "save" didn't work, infact after a day's curing the problem was worse than ever, so while pissed and pissed off, I just slapped a whole load of nail varnish over it. I reckon it now looks suitable scungy, but on the downside the barrels are abit obscured. Back on thew plus side, the resin on it's own was so clear, it was difficult to see that that the skeleton was semi-submerged; it's a lot more obvious now.

hmmmm i really dont kno who i am going to vote for-it might come down to iny miny miny mo!!
i am suprised that it came up so good(my landspeeder)i did evry thing very rushed i built up the base using plaster of paris and before it had dried stuck sand to it and before taht had dried i undercoated and immediatly started painting it-not the best way of doing things but it looks better in real life as you can clearly pick out the deatils.it was rather hard to do that to my poor landspeeder the crew were cut out and hence the holes in the seat and where their legs where meant to go is a massive hole so it really does look like its been scavanged but i was not sure whether that would work very well having it rather bare!!
i have never ever finished a complete bit of terrain before and i was very reluctant coming into this challenge but i must thank you guys for this as i almost love making terrain now.....somethign i learnt was not to make it too deatiled and packed full of stuff keep it simple and walah ever i can make terrain!!so thanks everybody for the motivation!!

You've a right to feel chuffed, that was an excellent piece.
and you've hit the nail on the head with your comments; keep it simple, it is after all a playing piece in a game, not a work of art. Excess detail tends not to be appreciated from the distance you normally view a piece on a table. and making terrain is defiantely fun, particularly the crash / junk type of thing. Just about anything can be turned into a useful and interesting pile of junk.

Yeah simple is best for terrain. After all when you put your fully painted detailed figures down you do want them to stand out from the terrain imho. I suspected those holes in the seats were from some superglued figures getting wrenched off the original model...but to be honest it works in the terrain piece because the seats look like they've just rusted through or something has nicked all the foam padding off them . Ahhh I'm glad you've developed a taste for terrain building - hopefully it'll expand your options gaming wise in the future. Or for the next challenge whatever it might be???!

i dont hink thers any more coming but u never know
the crew where not superglued down they are just part of the seat!!!as for the trail from the crash it was just using n old metal file and ripping it through the plaster!!
my cd has actually detached itself from the plaster as i did not roughen it up so its a pure white base now.....
