Right, we might as well make this all 'official' like. I'd suggest:
The FIRST month of the MMWMM Challenge runs from:
Monday 1st of May to midnight on Sunday the 29th of May.
Voting will be on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday of that week and close midnight Wednesday the 31st of May. Then we'll start the next month's challenge for MMWMM.
The Challenge:
- Create a 6-10 figure (or base) unit (or platoon) that represents the following:
- An HQ character (or Command platoon). - And his Retinue, or an Elite squad (or platoon).
- Figures must be fully assembled and based.
- Figures may be fully painting. However as some of us are terribly slow painters (ahem) any degree of painting above priming is also acceptable.
- Work in progress photos through the month would also be nice but that's up to you. If you can't do photos easily at least post and tell us how you're going.
- Any comments anybody?

I might chip in with my acw officers, which will be;
1 corps commander (James Longstreet - mounted)
1 corps / 1 Div commander (Pickett - mounted) 1 corps / 1 Div / 1 Brig (Lewis Armistead - foot) 1 corps / 1 Div / 2 Brig (here the names start to run out - foot)
1 corps / 2 Div commander (mounted) 1 corps / 2 Div / 1 Brig (foot) 1 corps / 2 div / 2 Brig (foot)
Cavalry Commander (JEB Stuart -mounted (unsurprisingly))
Artillery Commander (E Porter Alexander - mounted possibly, haven't got a figure picked out for him yet)

OK I will do a Farseer as my HQ and either a squad of guardians or Striking Scorpians. I should be able to get them painted as they are mostly assembled already.
Man it's heaps of time untill may....

Uhh personally I think this should be a painting challenge. The aim should be to collect and paint the figures to a level you consider finished.
I know we all paint at different speeds but I think the success of the last compo came from a high standard of entries. If we allow a mix of completed and uncomplete figures it wont be quite as impressive and wont interest so many people.
If you know you are a slow painted airm for 5 figures + HQ if you are a fast painter aim for 10... judge your own abilities.
Also I'd really like to see people laying out an overall aim for the 3 month project (possibly in a different thread?).
Im definately in on this project I just cant decide what I should do (High Elf, Skaven Clan Pestilens, Iron Warriors).

I am in but there should be a limit on figures (even if it only applies to me I can try and control myself but in a lot of cases the unit that my HQ will be with will be at least 12 figures (unless I hit the ogres). As for the army I am going to do, I am waiting to see what others are doing... I can see there will be a predominantly 40k bias. If i do 40k it will probably be either my slaneesh CSM or I might go splash out on some new marines and convert them to be in correct scale. If I do fantasy it will be Ogres or empire and there is the outside chance that I might hit my FoW russians. The problem with the russians is I want to paint the WHOLE army in one go... I dont mind only submitting the command group but thats only gunna be 6 tanks... My current selection will be 40k, if there is another FOW painter then I will do my russians, and depending fantasy will only be selected if between now and May I get sick of doing my Tau (they are getting an overhaul) Ofcourse I could always stick up a popularity poll and see what you guys think I should do... though I think 40k would win by bias alone.

Yes there does seem to be a 40k bias so I'd go with them. I'm still waiting for my 28mm DAK Germans to arrive. Hopefully they'll be here before the 1st! Most likely I'll end up painting them because they'll be the newest figures in my garage .
