Yeah so in order to secure votes 40k would be the best choice though Iknow there are people waiting for me to finally complete my FoW force, though as my painting plans dont suit the contest it may be better to do something else...
I have a crazy idea that I spotted on a few websites and if I choose to go ahead with it i may use that... stupid decisions...

I got 8 or so armies mostly un painted... some of them are over half done but (which is usually enough to make a full army).
Mt Flames of War army I have got half the models but Still need to buy half the men and tanks...
my basic plan for painting them is to glue them all single file to stiff cardboard strips and then paint them in a true production line... as there is going to be extreme repition I want to do them all in one go, that way each strip of card will have only the same model on it... its the way I learnt to paint anything smaller than 25mm models and i couldnt imagine doing it any other way...
so as you can understand i am planning to paint the whole army in one go, other wise that production line wont equate to any greater speed...
I am also contemplating using a mixture of enamel and acrylic paints... old hapits die hard but at that smaller scales using a different medium can create the look of a different material, that saves time on the whole painting details thing =]

my basic plan for painting them is to glue them all single file to stiff cardboard strips and then paint them in a true production line... One good way of production lining FoW figures I heard about was to glue each figure to the head of nail then have a block of that green foam they use for flower arranging. You jab the nails into that to hold them when not being painted. The advantage being you can pick up each individual figure and work on it more easily than if you had 5 -10 glued together in a line. also gives you a good easily gripped handle if you use a decent size nail. I guess the trick would be to figure out how much glue you need to stick it on so that its solid but easy to pop off (superglue is probably the way to go). For my driver figures I have a similar approach but instead use a bunch of drawing pins with the points filed off. I then drill a hole in the bottom of each figure and jam them on. normally they hold nice and firmly and are much easier to work on. The trouble with that is you have to blu-tak them to the bench and thats why nails/foam woud work better.

Ok well my 28mm DAK Germans arrived tonight! And I have some Copplestone Pulp heroes on their way as well.
So I'm officially painting a 'squad' of 28mm DAK Germans for Pulp gaming. That'll be 1 NCO leader and 4 squad members.
Damn. Not 40k...but I'll probably be using my IG Cadian Desert paint scheme!

Ok so I couldn't resist. 1st of May be damned! I cleaned up and based my Pulp DAK Germans this afternoon. The squad for this month's challenge consists of a mysterious masked officer armed with an MP40 SMG, and followed by his vicious pet. He's leading four riflemen - who are probably all terrible shots. Here's hoping I can paint this lot in a month! Somehow I doubt it but I'll give it a crack!

they do look quite cool though.you could use them as like some sort of elite unit like in kill team or a hardened veteran squad

Yeah they're nice figures . And despite my advice re 40k they're not for any GW system...I intend to use them for .45 Pulp Adventures. They're basically going to be played like the Nazis in the Indiana Jones movies. 'Velcome to Cairo Doktor Jones...'
