and here's where we're at right now; A;; painted, and the first pour of resin busy setting. The blurry palm pic works well here as it doesn't show up the flaws. Norski Klear Kast apparently isn't meant for doing this sort of thing; although you can't tell from this pic, as it is setting it's shrinking away from the groundwork, so hardly looks convincing as liquid. I'll have to see how it looks once it's set hard, then decide how to salvage it.

Looks good! The little skelly is suitably non-denominational as to make the terrain useful for pretty much any sci-fi game. Are you going to bang it up on TradeMe post challenge?
Klear Kast shrinks as it sets...bad Klear Kast! BAD! I hate it when products do that...

Are you going to bang it up on TradeMe post challenge? . ...probly It's almost set hard now, and hasn't got much worse. I might try and either disguise the edge with more groundwork, or pour a thin layer of something else over the top to try and fill in the gap.

Ok well, since I've finished mine and it went up on the blog this morning I'd better post it here! I had a blast making and painting it and learnt a few things too. I'm seriously considering trying to throw together *another* CD before the deadline... Anyway, here's the work in progress shot just before priming: And here's the finished piece! There's more details on creation and painting up on my blog on this post.

Reckon it would sell on TradeMe? Reckon it would get say $40? (I doubt it myself).
Without the experimenting this piece would have been pretty quick to put together and paint. The paint job gives a nice effect for absolutely minimal effort.
Might try another CD but go for a more traditional gray stone finish using the same painting technique and flog that off.

I would like to think you'd get $40, but I doubt it too.

I debated putting it up at all because I didn't want to scuttle anybody else's terrain efforts before the competition was over...but on the other hand I think it's one of the nicest pieces of terrain I've managed to create...so had to show it off Keep going slipher! I want to see what other people create and the only way to learn anything in this hobby is just to try random stuff (which is what these challenges are really about I suspect). Besides which remember there's no prizes at stake so it's really about challenging yourself rather than actually competing imho.
