hey with games workshops launch of shadow in the east there comes a new character "khamul the easterling "the only named ringwriath (apparently).i was wondering if any of yous could varify this before i search my appendixes for it.
personally i never remember reading about that but i do not think gw would lie about something like that and its been about 4-5 years since i read it.they claimed tolkien named him?

whats published isnt all he wrote, there would be hordes of note books sketches and so forth. Just cause it aint in THE book doesnt mean it isnt in A book =]

Its mentioned in the other books he wrote, namely I think it was the Treason of Isengard, or one of the others in that series.
Im not too sure that Tolkien went into as much detail about the Esterlings and the Variags as GW is, and I believe that some amount of what they are publishing they have made themselves. But Khamul was definately named in one of his books.
Just as a note: I've read every Tolkien book I can get my hands on (and even some I couldn't), and I am a huge fan of his. Not too keen on SBG tho, the gameplay doesn't seem as smooth as the other GW games and I dont like the minis

I didnt much care for The Hobbit, it seemed to childish and immature compared to his other writings. I know it was his first attempt at prose, but it still doesn't compare to the likes of tLotR or the Silmarillion.

It was only mentioned once, in THE most obscure place ever. I dunno how long it would have taken GW to find it though..
