... and belt The belt itself I got for $1 from a charity shop and just added the eyelets. I made the bucklefrom scratch. Pretty chuffed with it too, it's the first time I've tried anything like that.

Hi Pityak,
Been awhile since I dropped by looks a bit quiet these days but this Steampunk, airship captain costume looks bloody awesome.
Since my last visit we've branched out a long way from the old GW days and tried some pulp era gaming (.45 adventures), you dressed up as an Airship Captain would fit into that nicely!
Are you still gaming/modelling?

hey hey stranger
As you can guess I don't spend much time here myself anymore, priorities have changed somewhat. I'm still doing the odd paint and sculpt commisions, but it's kind of part time now. Part of the reaon is I'm making costume props, as for the other, have a look for a new post...

Some more from the almost-complete confederate airship costume, Jacket and beret; Originally I was going to be wearing khaki shirt and pants, but after I did the beret decided I would have to change to grey for old times' sake. I couldn't find any buttons so had to make my own from brass blanks and 3D scrapbooking letters Gun in holster;

Very cool! Your dedication is impressive. I particularly like the Airbourne wings!

All my own work of course. My wife had the nerve to say "it's only a costume!" the other night

dammit i must learn to read. I thought I had bought 10m of yellow tape, when in fact I'd bought 10mm tape, and only 3m of it. So, after runniong tapes down one leg of my panys, I didn't have enough left for the other leg! Left leg's ok, right leg has no tape below the knee (which will be hidden by my boot anfd a huge gap halfway up the the thigh wihich will (hopefully) be hidden by the holster

Done I reckon Shots of the hardware; In our house it's pretty tricky to get a photo without a dog in it... The full shebang... ...and finally a close-up of the wrist-thermo-compass-watch That'll do for now. I'll try and post better pics when I can find someone to take them for me! (I had to do all those on self-timer)

Holy Shit. Hugh Ashton, author of "Beneath Grey Skies", the inspiration for this uniform, has just been touch asking if he can use my photos!
