i just joined for occasional craic but you guys may actually be able to help me... i'm working on a steampunk costume for a 'party' in 2 weeks time... has anyone got any tips for painting materials to look like copper and brass? i was thinking the plastikote (or similar) copper and brass aerosols to start, but they'll leave the surface a bit uniform and unrealistic - i want to have a slightly tarnished look all help appreciated, ta mack

Dunno Mack. I wouild be full of ideas if you painting a mini, but things work a bit differently in 1:1 scale. There are a good rtange of metal effect spray paints around, you should check out one of those. Failing anything else, a green wash over your spray paint should add some realism.
What's your costume? I'm working on steampunk figures at the minute.
