Many many many years ago in the early days of GW many a time I would see kids showing up to games day with their new $90 tank slapped together with enough supa-glue to make a hobbo happy for a week and it was not even undercoated. I show up with my armies that I had spent a week working on putting together and then another 2-3 weeks painting. It ended up being a group of kids playing on one table with non-painted stuff and the older players playing with there painted figs. ;D or if by a small mircale some kid had infact painted their fig it looked as if it had been dunked into a vat of paint. I'm not saying all kids are the same just in those days it was mainly the younger groups. Unless you had an older fanatical collector who had thousands of figs and no time to paint them. ok got that off my chest now to find my happy pills

We've had this subject come up many times in the past. I can't imagine playing with unpainte dfigures, but then the game angle is very, very secondary to me, I'm primarily interested in the figures as an end to themselves. If I was first and foremost a gamer I would probably disagree. Then again, I reckon if you weren't too fussy you could get an army painted to approximation of what it was meant to look like easy enough, so there's no excuse. Say you were painting wwi british; spray bomb the whole lot in khaki, leaving plenty black undercoat showing, and you would have something that looked way better than bare metal figs.

I wonder if thats 4 batteries of artillery or if it just counts as one.
Just to reiterate my stand painting and playing and terrain are the holy trinity of the hobby, and each component to its own. Some games dont use models, some games dont need terrain and some people dont even play but enjoy collecting models. I think people should appreciate the particular aspect they are doing at the time and accept that others arent as good at, or care more about a different aspect.

I usually I can't be bothered to paint properly so I do a 'Mock' (all basic Base colours with little or no details) paint scheme until I can get around to the decent painting. It seems to satisfy people on both sides of the conflict without me having to do a decent paint job...yet.

that's it; if it's good enough for you, it's good enough for anyone in my book
