Lol hex bases?? Thats a new one...
And as far as what Gw are making up? New hobbits, and writing them into the Histories of Middle Earth, information on the easterlings and Haradrim (Tolkien never wrote more than what was in LotR on both these races, and somehow GW had a complete history on one of these races, including events, characters, etc). I think behaviour like that from an international company is quite unheard of, I mean how can you just invent whole new parts of something which wasn't yours to begin with, if you know what I mean.

They arent drawing their information from the Old RoleMaster RPG, LOTR settings ?
and besides George Lucas created and wrote starwars but more Fans and writers have written books than Lucas ever Did or could.
Middle Earth has become a kingdom in the imagination of its fans, so long as they stick to what has been writen thus far (dont contradict anything already created) and stay faithful to the ideas of Middle Earth then think of it as the only way we will ever get to know the rest of tolkens fantastic vision.
There is also they chance Tolken wrote more notes but one would expect that these would have already been published.
Personally there are no such thing as the Baal Tigers but I'll be damned if I am going to paint my spacewolf models as spacewolves and expect them to play nicely with my Blood Angels...
However if they are passing it off as Tolken unpublished manuscript, Shame on them, money hungry dollar pigs.
