oo those are quite nice for plastics. Though the horse is way too static, looks like a kids plastic farm animal with some extra embelleshiment. The horse definately needs a more dynamic pose

The horse definately needs a more dynamic pose I dunno... the rider is an officer, sat with the horse at rest directing proceedings, so I reckon it works fine in this case.

nah, the horse would be fidgeting at least, in a war situation horses pick up on the tension and no matter how well trained would not stand so knee locked. Anyway the picture on the box shows the horse with movement I think it's just that they can't sculpt a horse (not that I can)

;D you'll notice I don't sculpt a lot of cavalry either!
I've seen British Police horses standing stone still with a riot going on around them, even being hit with missiles, and didn't so much as toss their head.

i bet while their torso and head stand at attention, they will relax opposing legs and shift weight from time to time. No horse stands with legs locked straight like that! plus those legs are very chunky looking, I thought that ancient japanese horses had finer legs, smallish with rounded barrel bodies and fine legs, that one looks like a smaller version of a clydesdale anyways, if I was going for that set I'd be looking around for a substitue horse to mount him on. Something like this one which has no ornamentation at all, it actually looks good on its own. You could create the saddlery and stuff yourself. and the horses are only $2! there are three different poses i think and all look very nice www.thunderboltmountain.com/product_info.php?cPath=25&products_id=99&osCsid=3abb7078622a2cdb41c299b328b71c29

Personally I think those horses look a bit . . . race horsey? all that old tapestry / pictures of war horses I can remember , look like Clydesdale cross , built like brick **** houses Not that I ride horses all day wearing my body weight in equipment and Armour . just not got the $$$ sound's fun! , apart from the heat and chafing
