I was more thinking about my car, a cutting torch, my flatmates welder and chain saw hands vrrrrm vrrrrrmmmm! Also I am a mech warrior freek, Dont play the game (dont like the models) but love it on the computer. Brought a $230 joystick to play it with, plus a programable keypad off to one side as my Lance command intercom. Sometimes for fun I would rock back and forth on my chair in time with the footsteps... Every boys dream is to stomp around in the megadoomer combat mech. that is unless I have peculiar dreams

Thats increidble! how insane to you have to be to actually try and do that?! (I mean building the mech as opposed to your obsession with Mech Warrior Dustan altho that runs a close second! )

"Sometimes for fun I would rock back and forth on my chair"
erm, yes. Don't they have hospitals for that sort of thing?
To be fair though, my crash hat is a simpson bandit, which if you're not into protective head wear is a darth vader style affair with a little sunglasses style visor. I had it wired for sound for my intercom, and used to play starfighter on my 3DO wearing the hat. The small visor meant all you could see was the screen ahead, and the sound was pumped directly into the helmet. Virtual reality man!

How insane do you have to be, I have drawn up no less than 3 cockpit simulation Ideas based on a battle mech cockpit, i have complete diagrams of the standard control layout, I have mapped out how to hook the computer into this layou As many of you may know, I am currently typing to you from my Arcade machine computer desk, I built and wired everything that makes it go, including roll out keyboard tray. Off to the left you can see my HOTAS joystick, fully programable with enough buttons, trimmers hatswitches and mouse controls. I would have built a Battle Mech cockpit simulator ALREADY, but I dont have a garage and I live in a house the size of your bathroom. As far as I am concerned, If those dudes can do it than I bloody can... I'm not gunna cut my car apart.... yet... it all comes back to living in a tictac container and owning only one car. If your nice enough about it you will find people falling over themselves to help you with what they can. I know a couple people who would be in on most of it (labour) and I know plenty of people who can calculate the science for it. and you got to accept the internet as the other half of your brain.. did you know you can learn just about anything on here =] Surely someone out there knows what I mean? Have you ever built something to do something ? Time to hear about everyones maddest creations or oddest repair job=]

My practical skills are roughly equivalent to those of a sea cucumber! ;D So my maddest/baddest creation would probably be my computer but that was really just a case of putting the components together... altho its got a window, 8 fans & blue light interior. Most of that came with the stupidly expensive case I bought but it still looks cool!
