This is not actually a cheap plug, as you will have seen I don't mind admitting when something is ;D Go along to my main site www.pityak.com if you haven't done so already. The site is fairly new, and still has the usual teething problems. I'd appreciate any constructive comments and criticisms, any thing you like or don't like, anything you think could be improved. Heck, even if it's unconstructive, let me know anyway!

no offence but your main page is fairly uninspiring. A pic of your best model would liven it up and give some idea of what your really capable of.

Good point. I take it you mean the first page of text, not the very front page with the large title graphic
I am planning to add some pics to that, and to the painting page, which I think really should have some pics of painted figures! As soon as i get some photos taken I'll post them.
Cheers for that, that's the sort of thing I'm after.

3 different pictures of the same or similar models showing the varying grades of painting would be good.

You're a step ahead of me - i have three of the same painted up to three standards, and I'm just waiting to get the pics done. Great minds think alike

Probably what you need for your webpages is to liven each page up a bit with graphics and a bit of colour and thereby eliminating a lot of that white space. Just keep the colour consistent between the pages. The banner probably needs to be a bit more distinctive as well to separate it from the rest of the page. Also if your going to put links at the top of the page it may be better to put them in a menu bar formation horizontally across the top as in your products page. I work as a web editor so if you need further advice I would be glad to help.

Thanks for that, all good points.
My original thought was to keep the pages clean, simple and quick to load, but the consensus seems to be for more graphics.
I had intended to fill the lower portion of the left hand menu column with images, I am just waiting to get some decent pics taken. I'm a sculptor, not a photographer, as you can probably tell from some of my attempts!
I've got the links at the top left, and the bottom of each page, I thought any more would be overkill. Can you elaborate on what you mean here, and regarding the banner? I'm no web expert either!

Well, you can keep the banner fairly simple but maybe a bit of coluour in the background would help to draw it out from the white and the body of the page.
The menu bar I was referring to at this stage was for your product page where you've placed bullet point links for the different product sections and may be better if put in a menu bar within the body of the page horizontally along the top instead. You should also make that side menu on the products page come up like the other pages.
Also if you are going to make one of the side menu links in a bigger font then it should be your Main link not the forum link.
You may also at some stage break up your products page into multiple pages for each section, as you don't want the pages too long. You could use the product menu bar to navigate between the different product pages.
Just some thoughts but you've got the right idea with concise and simple. Just needs a little more to catch the eye.

I see what you mean about the menu on the products page; I normally use Opera and eveything looks fine, just checked with IE and it sure doesn't. Ugh! should be fixed now.
I like your suggestion for the menu bar, I think I'll go with that. I realise the product section is getting too unwieldy, and am considering ways of revamping. One way I thought was to have just a list of products on one page, with links to images and descriptions maybe?
I had no access to my site for a couple of weeks due to Paradise's customer care policy, so that forum buttom was added at about 2am the other night, along with a few other things. A lot of what you see now is the result of an ill-planned and up too late session, trying to get things posted and updated. Like I've only just noticed I forgot the rollover colour on the button. So I've got a lot to put right. Eventually.

Question for you Aaron (or anyone else)
Some of the images don't appear on my pages, unitll i select "show image" from the context menu. Do you know why that could be?

Dunno sorry, if you told me your RAM was busted and needed replacing Im your man! (you pay the flight to wellington ) but with Opera I haven't used it, isn't Mozilla built on that? not sure but Mozilla I know IE I can bluff my way through. I quite like the clean site. Im still using Dial-up and some of these graphic/flash intensive sights just annoy me, maybe some colour would be nice but dont get carried away with pictures, provide thumbs and links, that should keep most people happy. With your products page why dont you simply break it into 4 pages. Weapons, Bases, Scenery, Tools & Accessories? I dunno how easy it is but say when you select Products in the menu it brings up a dropdown list of those 4 and you can select from there?
