I like the way this guy bases his figures; www.lloydianaspects.co.uk/models/polystyrene/convplas.htmlNormally when I've got figures with the slotta-bar thingy between their feet, I lop it off and glue (or pin and glue) the feet to the base. This guy sticks the whole bar directly to the base. This means you get a good solid polystyrene to polysyrene bond which would be virtually unbreakable in normal use, and you can build up a good amount of groundwork without obscuring your figure's feet.
