Wasnt really sure where to post this... Looks like I may be getting commissioned to paint a whole FOW army over my holidays. Im not really sure what I should be charging to do the job. I dont really want to charge to much, but i dont want to under cut myself either... Just wondering how you guys charge for your work? By the hour, base, model etc. I'd say I'll be assembleing the models also... He hasnt decided what army he wants yet so, im not really sure whats gonna be on my table, hopefully not a russian infantry army Cheers, any ideas?

I don't professionally but I do own two FOW army. One fully painted, one unpainted.
My first question would be to find out the army composition!
If it's an Armored Company you're looking at a bunch of tanks and support vehicles and maybe a platoon of Infantry or two.
If it's a Rifle/Recce Company you're looking at a bunch of Infantry and some support tanks and vehicles.
Understandably Infantry take a lot longer to paint than vehicles and tanks.

Yep, two different things paint wise. It will be a boxed set, hes currently looking at a Bersaglieri which looks like it will be fun to paint. Not to many troops, which is what I find takes the most time. Was practising my batch painting lastnight on a british rifle company, its the only way! I guess another thing i have to take into consideration is the standard he wants then painted to, tabletop is alot less time consuming than show quality... Since no takes on what i should charge, maybe what would you pay , if you couldnt paint.

That's a hard question. It takes me an eternity to paint anything (even 15mm soldiers) so I might not be the best to ask...
Maybe find some other painting services online and see what they charge for a base of 15mm FOW figures?

Okay as a person who gets paid to paint little men (oh yea who needs a social life?) the charges (this is per man remember) can be anything from $1USD - $3USD per fig this all depends on your skills as a painter so throw up some pics and I'll give you a ball park figure also if it's for a friend probablly just charge them half (unless you don't like em) but yea it all really depends on the quality of your painting and what you think is fair.

Hmm, Im just gonna charge him a couple hundred for the lot + paint, seeing as he is a friend. Will be painted to table top quality, as anything trickier will take to much time and cost more. Hes not worried as he cant/wont paint and has the cash. Theres some of my minis in the warmachine thread, though it is a FOW army which i dont have any examples of as photos. He has seem my FOW stuff and approched me to paint his army so they must be ok looking.
