You seem to have a very eclectic collection there Phil.
Hmmm not as dark as I would have been excepting according to Osprey and various web sources. Maybe it's a bit worn though since the bottom of the pouches does look considerably darker than the front/top.

They are actually darker than when I originally got them. "tan" is how they are usually described, but these have been waxed and done several hundred motorcyle-miles in british winters.
(unusually, these photos are very accurate; the colour you see is the colour they are, on my monitor anyway)
I used to have a huge stack of WWII items, but this is the last. Amongst others I've had countless sets of 37 and 44 webbing, an actual new-old-stock battleblouse (the single most unpleasant garment I have ever worn - not sure were it went to), gaiters, despatch riders gauntlets, all sorts of tommy gear. From the other team I had a replica ss dagger and helmet, but my wife made me throw those out, and a luftwaffe uniform jacket. Last year a second hand shop in petone had a DAK tunic. I dropped so many birthday present hints, but still no-one bought me it.
Also got a piece of shrapnel that landed at my grannies feet one morning (she says) and a few spent rounds, two of which have been made into a container for sewing needles for some bizarre reason. medals, buttons, all the sort of paraphenalia grandparents seemed to collect during the war.

Looking again I see what you mean; the front on the top two pics is a little washed out, the colour of the bottom is more accurate.
