Here is the ancient and sagely wisdom that allows the standard GW plastic models to be repositioned dynamically.
I discovered this gem when I realised it was stupid sculpting armpits onto orks during the MWMM contest. instead of pining and sculpting the missing arm portion, simply grab an extra arm (I used the piles of shoota arms i had left over). Now glue the flat joints of the arms so the hands are as far apart as possible. to make the next step easier cut most of the extra arm off.
what you have just done is create an oval shoulder, completely detailed, all you need do now is cut through the shoulder at any physically achievable angle (look into kinetics or just wing it, you choose)
You have now created a new flat edge to glue to the shoulder, no need for sculpting, no need for gaps. no need to cover it with a shoulder pad. just scrape it like you would any mold line and it will look ace.
If you use super glue cut the shoulder carefully as it is likely to break the glue. Your better to use plastic cement which fuses the shoulders together so it wont pop apart when you cut it. Oh it also makes it nicer when you clean the join, actually wont be a seam at all.
No pics but look through my orks and you will see some of them =]
BTW don't forget if you dramatically raise the arm above the head then for the love of God tilt the torso so that that shoulder is up higher than the other. it will reinforce the illusion of motion.
Sorry space marine players but i think your the only ones that loose out on this trick... infact it probably wont work on any clothing or armer more involved that say a t-shirt sleeve.
