OK I have a plan. I aim to make a Kroot force using Khorne rules, and to accomodate the 3+ save I want the Kroot to have eaten a horde of Nids and evolved carapace armour. The thing is, I dont want to have to buy *explicit deleted*loads of Nids for the project.
Does anyone have any good ideas about making carapace armour suitable for Kroot?

I would try making some sort of stamp. Make one cool looking carapace armoure out of putty, make a small mould. put a lump of putty on the area that gets the armour. push your stamp mould into it, trim off the excess.
Your gunna need to use some release agent to be able to remoce the stamp without pulling the putty.

Ideal! Good thinking there dustan  , I'll have to try it out. Does my idea make sense? Basically Im using Khorne rules, but kroot figures heavily converted and modelled appropriately. Well this is just my idea, anyways. Im looking for something interesting to take to Conquest 06, and I thought that would be cool, take winged kroot for raptors, a giant knarloc for a bloodthirster... the possibilities are endless |

I have seen a web page with kroot converted and used as beastmen. It was pretty sweet, I thought it was a baltimore games day or something... I couldnt find a working link...
personally I reckon you might need to use beastmen arms or atleast catachan arms, something real beafy looking(hehehe Trogdor) otherwise the supernatural demon strength is going to be realy supernatural coming from those scrawny arms.
Its a good idea though cause kroot look good with conversions.
How were you going to do wings ?

Gargoyles - I have a mate who wants to make some leaping gaunts out of tyranid Gargoyles - see one of the White Dwarfs from when Nids were re-released. So We're gonna go halves in blisters, I'll get the wings and he'll get the bodies

Oh yeah did I meantion that this wasn't my final idea? Im also thinking of going alpha legion using Kroot models, probably more appropriate but less fun conversion-wise...
