I was browsing around the net and came across a rather amazing korean guys website. He mainly sculpts bigger kind of stuff and I have no idea what he uses since I cant read it. But I noticed that he seems to sculpt in the final colours. like flesh areas are flesh tond etc.. Well anyways it got me pondering the white epoxy putty and whether anny one has tried tinting it before mixing and sculpting and what kind of results were acheived. I remember my grandmother used to have a porcelain figure in her cabinet, it was one of those kinds that were made from tinted porcelain rather than painted and I was thinking how awesome a mini might look in that style. Could achieve quite an ethereal look anyways here is his site, it's rather nice to look at, he posts step by step photos of his creations which is interesting to see how he goes about building them up. you just have to kind of click around blindly and stumble onto links www.rainmandoll.com/

I've never heard of anyone tinting epoxy putty, not sure what you could try. maybe if you mixed in some polymer clay? if it was still soft after the epoxy set you could then bake it.
but you might aswell just use polymer clay. Looking at that site i don't think it'll be epoxy he's using, it's only us mugs doing minis who think epoxy's good idea. more likely he's using polymer.
Warehouse stationery have du-kit for about 2.99 (cheaper than the bargain price someone sells it for on trademe) and I'm planning to give it a go sometime.
On a related note, some of the best doll bashing sites are japanese. It's frustrating when not only can you not read them, but your browser can't even display them properly.

i hate polymer clays. I find it just doesn't agree with me and baking it is a nightmare. I always end up with cracks even though I follow instructions!
I've tried airdry clays like das, it's actually quite nice to work with but not in small scales. I was wondering if the putty would tint with acrylic paints would be an interesting experiement anyway. I was toying with the idea of creating a small sized doll out of the white putty, if I was able to tint it a soft flesh colour before sculpting it'd save painting

Ask on the clubhouse, if you can do it, someone there will know.
