How do you change the position of metal figures arms? Do you have to cut it off then glue it back on? I read something where the person said they filed the arm to point downwards. Did they like file a chunk from the elbow and bend it downwards?

I guess they must have removed a wedge of metal, and bent it closed to move the arm.
You can bend metal parts, if you are careful. Wrap the piece in tissue paper, and gently grip with pliers and bend. You can't bend too far, stop if it begins to feel warm. You will notice tiny fractures in the bend appear just before it snaps off completely - this would be a good time to stop.
But really I would suggest sawing the arm off, pinning and repositioning. Bear in mind the wrinkles and folds in your figures costume will probably also need reworking.

That's it - thinking the job through beforehand is a major part of the battle.
I spend hours staring into spac, and it's pretty hard trying to convince people I'm working, but that's how i solve problems.
I like to go for a walk with the pooch or go fishing, and sit and work out how I'm going to tackle projects.
In fact, since I live on the seafront, i use the beach as anextended workshop, and across there do to my creative thinking type stuff.

...and it doesn't take any expensive equipment.
I've planned loads of great stuff! Now all I've got to do is build them!
