One good idea that was in another post here was using the cheap signs from 2 dollar shops, your likely to only get one thickness but its a lot cheaper than proper sheets and rods

This is actually a bloody good idea, and one I should definitely investigate as there's several $2 shops around us. Modeller's plasticard is quite expensive - although patches it's carried by almost any hobby shop that sells model railway stuff. Usually in a twirly stand thing in a darkened corner in my experience

If it's mail order you want, check out www.acornmodels.co.nzAnd search for 'evergreen' for plastic rod and sheet, or just 'sheet' for everything including brass sheet, balsa etc.

actually those two dollar shop signs work out more expensive than shop bought plastic card i find. having said that, I never buy the packs from evergreen as they are scandalous, but my local shop usually has a few sheets of various thickness for about $1 - $1.50. I think they might be offcuts or something, but they beat the heck out of those packs, which are about $7 or 8 I think
but basically, I can buy it retail cheaper than I could get it through the offical channels and sell on, so unfortunately I'll have to say I can't help you there.
Plastic rod's not that expensive though is it? i buy the odd pack every now and then and it seems to last me ok. (don't forget you can always stretch plastic sprue if you are on a tight budget)

There are two schools of thought on this one.
The First Never let an opportunity to make money pass you by.
The Second (And my persoal view) Money is easy to make if thats all you want to do with you life.
So I say, on sell it, even if you have to offer it at more than the competition. Someone may buy it and you don't have to waste your time pushing it :-)

thing is, it's an unreliable supply, and I want it all for myself!
secondly, margins and all, it's just not worth it
