I first started all this because I felt in New Zealand we didn't have the range of miniatures and related products that are available elsewhere in the world, and what is available tends to be expensive.
As I've said in other posts, I'm more into the minis than the games themselves, so my view is skewed thataway. I need to know what you want, so I can see if I can make it, or at worst import it (I am not intending to import other manafacturers products, apart from tools, materials and the like.)
So If there's anything you've always wanted, post it up here and we'll see what we can do.
I've already had a number of requests for Citadel Miniatures pieces, particularly spares form older OOP figures. I am not selling other manafacturers products, nor will I be recasting OOP parts, but I do occasionally sell off bits and bobs of my personal collection. Maybe anyone wanting this kind of stuff could post in "Show us your little men" and we could all rummage in our bits boxes to see what we've got. If this seems like a good idea, I could set up another board for wants and swaps.

Wants and swaps is a good idea. especially for people looking to convert because it is silly trying to use trademe to buy a single hand, head, gun etc. when someone else has a spare that they may be willing to give away or trade for.

yep, that's what I'm hoping for, that this will become a community, where we will be glad to swap or even give away a few bits that aren't really worth much anyway.

The trade/give away thing sounds great! I have a reasonable size bitz box, mainly 2nd edition Space Marines, a few 'Nids parts and some LotR pieces too, all which people are welcome to for a small price, eg postage.
But what I really wanna know is, how can I become involved in a thing like PitYak? Coversions and the likes are what I'm really into, for me the game comes second. Is there any way of doing something like that for a profession?

Work hard, as hard as you possibly can, then work harder. Then give up sleep, socialising (many of us have done that anyway ;D) and anything else not directly model related. Then just keep on doing it. If you can find a better way, please let me know  |

Trade/swap thing sounds awesome! All other forums odn't allow as (puts on melodrone voice) we cannot be held responsible for stealing your figs, missing models and really bad packaging causing Jim Carrey to throw the box down the stairs and jammed between elevator doors.(Takes of melodrone voice) Or something along those lines  |

why not allow the option? we're not talking about swapping whole armies or one of a kind awesomely painted figures. its just bits and bobs that people have lying around and are willing to give away or swap. and the website can't be held responsible because it's just you and whoever else organising it. if you have a bad feeling about the person, don't do anything, its your choice. If everyone keeps trustyworthy and doesn't take advantage of the system the swaps board coyuld turn into one of the sites best features, that sets it apart from the others.
