In a rare fit of philanthropy, I have agreed to promote a product made by someone else A young guy I met through his father while sourcing casting materials has designed and manufactures a workstation to go on your desk. This design apparently won the Waikato Niwa Year 7 & 8 Science fair, and he sells it through a couple of local shops. I agreed to promote it through here and the site, as I like the idea of supporting local talent in our field. We haven't finalised things such as pricing (I believe it will be priced around the $150 mark) or delivery, this is just to scope out interest at this stage. From what I've seen it looks pretty decent, you don't get the paints and models and stuff obviously, but it comes with the base, shelf, water jars and clips for holding your work. Nice little addition to your work bench, I know I am always trying in vain to find something that will make me more organised in my work ;D Also I reckon this is worthwhile, giving some support to a young local lad who could one day become a major player in our field. Hang on a minute, he might become more succesful than me ...

Update:
I originally thought this was made from injection moulded polystyrene, but it turns out it is cast in aluminium with a silver powder coated finish. Sounds like it is very good quality. Other colours are available on request.
The individual components of the workstation (tray, base and clips) are available seperately.
If anyone is interested, mail me and I will get back to you with details as I get them.

Looks great! quite a talented young man. Perhaps you could suggest moving the cups to the left side of the tray, Im right handed and would always be cleaning up paint water But I'll stick with my "tea tray" I made in form two

Hmm, maybe you're just clumsy, I'm right handed too, but always have my water on the right.
