Still not perfect, but making some progress here. Obviously this is a prototype, not a finished blade, and has not been finished to a high standard (hasn't been polished for example) I am now using high tensile steel for the blades, which is a bit of a pig to work, and bloody difficult to cut, but produces beautiful blades. The point on this is pretty lethal, as you may be able to see in the pic, but because of the material I think it's better if I don't sharpen these all down the blade as I would with a mild steel blade; someone is going to kill themself if I start selling what amount to miniature high tensile steel knives! The cross guard here is mild steel, the tang of the blade (which is a bit too small on this one) fits through a slot in the guard, and all is held in place with a drop of of the old cyanoacrylate. The mild steel is still a bit tricky to work into such small shapes, and I am still sourcing a more suitable material, ideally brass.

I think that looks really good for an unfinished example! I may have a commission for you, well a small job really but Ive never commissioned anything in my life and this could be my only chance! What Im wanting is a sword (Anduril, Flame of the West) for this miniature. The one he's holding looks much better in the picture than it does in real life (its chunky and basically square). I know you're pretty busy at the moment but if your interested let me know.

That's the problem with most if not all mass produced minis; big chunky weapons. some manufacturers don't even bother supplying spears, so you have to buy them from some charlatan micro-blacksmith. My pet hate in case you hadn't noticed is the catachan swords / machetes that are almost as wide as the mini's head. Most of the LOTR figures have been better than the run of the mill, but could still be improved. - Can you mail me about this - things like actual dimensions, a better pic, perhaps from the actual movie prop. Meanwhile I'll have a look at my LOTR sources to get an idea what is required.

I've started sketching my double -handed axe Pityak, but as my army as a sigil throughout it, I thought it would be kool to have that sigil cut into the blade, if thats possible

Just send me a pic, and I'll see what I can do. I don't like to think there's anything I can't do

Well dude, you know my comments on the blades, and just so everyone else knows, they are very beautiful when closer to finished. And I tell no lies, they are, VERY beautiful.
