Ok! So now's your chance to weigh in on some mighty 15mm terrain decisions! I've made a foam card mock up of the 30's building facade I'm -still- trying to master. The mock up is a scale test, as well as a chance to try out a few of the different windows. So! Questions: 1) Does the scale look right? Doors, windows, floor spacing? 2) Which set of windows do you prefer? The first (crossed four pane) or second (mix of sash window types)? First scale test with NZers and four paned windows:Second scale test with NZers (through windows and doors):Second window set - super sash style:Any thoughts gentlemen? At all? On any aspect? Sorry about the slightly dim photos - they're nighttime shots. Also the pencil markings indicate general areas that I intend to build up with plasticard detailing. I'm also half way through sculpting a pillar set with a decorative cap for the top floor pillars.

scale looks spot on. not sure about the windows. I like the sash style, but the other seems to fit the building better

Yeah I think the scale looks ok too myself. 40mm for each floor basically. I did exagerate the windows and floor heights slightly, but that's so you can build up floors at the back and still get your grubby fingers in there to place/move figures. It's roughly based on the Blackett's Building in Auckland's Queen St. I've been peering intently at the old 30's buildings on the way to work for months now so scale has probably sunk in . I notice a lot of these old buildings have a mix of window styles, with sash windows on the first floor just above the street awning, and sealed four pane windows higher up. I don't know if the sash windows have been retro fitted...possibly they double as a fire escape onto the awning? But yeah. I agree- four pane looks better, makes it feel more European imho while he sash windows make it feel more American to me. Odd
