So I wanted the just plain cool ltd. Ed TechmarineI couldn't get from Mail Order and guess what two pop up on TradeMe with the seller saying they only have two. Someone buys one with buy now ($35.00) and then some dick decides he'll try and save himself four dollars and bid on the no reserve auction taking away my option to buy now. Long story short through a night of bidding (by people with 0 feedback ) I was pushed up to 45 dollars, ten bucks up from the buy now. Lo and behold, this morning the original seller has put up another two of the same techmarines are up, unbid on with buy nows of 35 dollars. There really are some great honest people on TradeMe aren't there ?

I -really- hate that buy now.. I think it should be in place until halfway betwee reserve and buy now price or something. Most sellers have no idea that their buynow will be knocked out by the first person who places a bid on their no reserve auction. I know that was teh case for me.. one of my auctions went over the buy now price by $5 but I actually wanted teh cash asap and not have to wait til the auction ended, which is why i set a buynow price, argh!
I'd put a question on that sellers auctions, both of them asking why they stated in the last two that these were their last and how come they have more to sell now.. they will either have to annswer them and expose it, or sit there with unanswered questions on their auction and cause people to think twice. I know I never feel comfortable with bidding on an auction where there are unanswered questions... or maybe the seller is scamming? these are limited editions and they have four of them? what is their feedback rating.
I was just warned of a scam on Yahoo japan auctions where people sell heaps of small items in order to get a positive feedback of 20 or so, then sell a major item. they swipe photos from somewhere and sell it, they then take teh money and disappear
