Hmmm, the archangel games 'website' is just a stub. I've emailed their address and we'll just have to wait and see I guess... If I do get a sensible price and shipping costs I'll definitely put together a bulk order over on the tabletop-terrain forums

Ahh, urban mammoth, their stuff is nice. (apart the fact their figures have weapons bigger than themselves)
Been telling you all for months you should wargames illustrated, it's always featured in there.
Cheap enough too; injection molding blows resin casting out the water, eh stu? reckon you could produce them so cheaply?

Wargames Illustrated? What's that then? Got a link at all? All that Hexagon, Platformer and new Bio Plant is produced by some Russian plastic injection company (Technolog) that retooled their factory for toys several years ago according to their site. They used to make some dull industrial products that weren't selling. Hmmm well yes, if I had several tens of million of dollars for a plastic injection molding factory I could probably produce some quite nice terrain .

That's the rub; kinda expensive to setup, then blat them them out by the billion for next to nothing. Steel molds probably have quite a good life expectancy too. wargames illustrated ;D

Yeah I remember asking Games Workshop about their old 1980's 28mm plastic Imperial Guard kits on their forums and discovered that they'd destroyed the masters and injection molds years ago. Apparently they do it regularly because they've only go so much storage space available! Seems criminal really.
GW and other companies are apparently going directly from 3d CAD designs to machine cut steel injection molds without any middle man these days. So basically they don't need sculptors anymore...just 3d modellers. Rumor has it the latest Lord of the Rings 'Moria' kits were produced this way.
Sad really. End of an era. But there'll always be a space for talented 'botique' sculptors I guess. Like that fantastic FreebooterMiniatures.com guy.
