I'm sure i've mentioned this before, 1:35 kits are a good source of bits for your "heroic" 28mms.
Tamiya are re-releasing a lot of their stuff in 1:48 now, which is even closer to 28mm scale. You can get packs of barrels, baricades, walls, tank traps and other diorama accesories, and a few vehicles which look like they could be good starters for bashing.

i have tones of 1/35 tamiya kits that i smash up and use for all sorts of things.they are great for it but now i am moving back into it and wish i did not as i have about a doven kits with a few impotrtent pieces missing.even use complete models for scenery as some long ago used planetary defence vechicle just rough him up a bit and u would never know.

I'm bad for doing that, spend a load of money on a kit then use the most important bit for something else. As I posted somewhere else, I went to start a 12" han solo the other day and realised I've used the head for something else. The head's kind of important
