Its nothing cool, just some odds n ends. Actually I bought some models for bodyparts and they had metal accessories I thought with a little luck I'll be able to cover most of the cost of the models... hence happy with $1, 1/10 of the way link

Im not trying to be an arse I just thought I'd share so you know the reaction it may have on some people altho I suppose I wouldn't put it past you doing it on purpose... Also how postable do you think this is?

Also how postable do you think this is? Doing it on purpose...? Honestly, some people will read too much into a perfectly innocent auction heading ;D. You probably thought there was something funny about my "Assault on Urectum" auction too As for the other beauty, it'll post, I just haven't worked out how or for how much yet ... I't's not particularly heavy, but it's the "volumetric weight" con that NZ Post think is a good idea which will knock the price up. I'm going to spend some time (soon hopefully) looking into different options, like seperate small parcels, couriers et cetera. If anyone has ever posted anything like this, I'd be glad of your input!

So my bug board only cost $7 to post

Hmm... I vaguely remember the "Assault on Urectum" but I didn't realise it was you. I guess it was something I wasn't really into or I would remember more clearly.
Your right about it being a beauty! All you have to do is put a little effort into the barrels & craters and you would have a complete scenery set!

The post didnt use the size thing when I posted my 60cmx60cm x10cm box. Just weighed it. Its strange, the official story is they will use which ever is the larger Volumetric weight or Weight weight but in practice they dont seem to worry too much about volume... I suppose they would if it was particularly bulky but 60*60*10 is pretty large... it might be one of those "it depends who serves you" things.

I've only ever been charged by weight by nz post too, I did this whole eep! thing after calculating volumetric weight etc from their website. But i think at the end of it all, the woman at the counter cant be futzed getting out her measureing stick, caluclating how much area the package takes up. Much easier just to weight it and slap a sticker on it Oh and don't take packages to the jackson st post shop, if it won't fit through the wires they won't take it. You have to go down to the main post center at Te Pune st other end of petone

I've taken a gamble;
Charging $20 on that auction, any more and I'll cover it.
I reckon it's a fair gamble, the chances of the postage being more than $20 are roughly equal to the chances of the auction meeting reserve ;D
I'm having a side bet on which will be the first question on the auction;
"Excuse me seller, what is reserve please?"
or
"Have you got a pic of the ladders?"
;D

you'd post those for around $8 to most of NZ, maybe up to 12-15 if they weigh a bit
yeah I'm serious. we hefted a dolls pram in a box down there, they just looked at us and said 'we can't take that here' I was like yes you can, the website says you will take up to x by x by x and it weighs less than the max and..
Anyway turned out that if it can't fit through the window there they can't take it. So they told us to take it to the mail center.... So we trudged down to te puni st and took it into the shop. The woman there looked at me and said 'we can't take that here' I was about ready to pick it up and throw it at her. I think she realised what she'd said and told us to take it to the outsized goods thingy at the other end of the corridor. *roll*
So after all that we got a box that was 45 x 50 x 70 sent within the north island for $12.75. It was a very big box. I felt a bit bad cos I had charged $20 for post and packaging, but then you do have to cover time and tape (boxes come free courtesy of pack'n'save. and bubblewrap comes free thanks to the briscoes dumpster bin)
