I just picked up some 'Daylight Bulbs' for figure photography that fit a normal household lamp. 'Lighting Plus' in Auckland stock them for $8 each. They make macro photography much easier - no more messing about with white balance.

Lighting Plus sell 'black light' bulbs as well and I was briefly tempted to turn my living room into a bad disco dance floor

Just in case anybody wanted to know!

Think they were about four bucks. They're D64s rather than D65s for the technically minded, but that's good enough for me.

I didn't have to travel to Newmarket! I'll definitely check out the lighting shelves next time I'm down there.
