Normally 1 piece/fixed terrain boards dont do it for me as I think after using them a dozen times or so you'll learn the table and know where all the good spots are also you learn how far it is from one feature to the next so you'll be able to guess ranges too accurately.
There was something about the completeness of this board that appealled.
PitYak have you ever done a mocked up game board with your scenery pieces? If you showed off a complete gameboard and took some pretty pictures it could be a good advertising tool, show how your pieces work together and how people can buy a complete battlefield? Either painted or unpainted sold as a pack. If you can get it seen in a place where parents can see it you could play to the Little Johnnie Sydrome (LJS).
Actually the more I think about it the more I would like to see it! (just to try and give you more tasks to do!)

Yeah. But I think he bought all the pieces new. I guess it needed to be new for display in a gaming store.
Most of us would probably rummage thru dump bins etc

Either painted or unpainted sold as a pack. I never usually have enough pieces at once to do large scale se tups, but I have done a few in the past. The biggest I've done recently was the last lot I sold on trademe, although they posed more to get as much in one shot as to look like a real board. If time permits I will get onto a bigger display piece, just I've got bugger all built at the minute, about two or three pieces lying around is all.

Yeah I guess its not economical to keep stuff sitting on your shelves but it doesn't take much to make a table look good. Couple of buildings, 3 craters, 2 hills and maybe something interesting (gun enplacement, Warp gate, alien artifact...)
Dunno was just thinking if you did up a table (even 4*4) you could take a pic, turn it into a poster and see if you can post it places with something like "Would you like a games table like this?" Contact PitYak Studios blah blah...
Maybe post it @ Wellington Warlords or similar RPG/Wargames clubs, GW wouldn't help but maybe the independent retailers? All or some of these places might have noticeboards for this kinda thing. dunno... just having... "a brain vomit" (was that what LW called it?)

I've been looking for opportunities like you suggest, unfortunately I don't think there are any independent retailers.

I was in GW the other day and lloked at their main table and thought...bah I could do better than this.
I aksed them what would happen if I made one.
They said it would be ok as somehow you incorporated products they sell.
Also..in their window they had small diaramas, if you can do a nice diarma they may display it too..but it has to be promoting their stuff. One for example was a forest but it was promoting their glues, flocks, staticgass etc and had a little tutorial page with it.
Whether they would allow "Terrain by http://www.pityak.com" I dont know.
