Ok, hopefully Phil won't mind me posting this as he doesn't deal in foam trays, but Erwin Neumayr has just started selling $10 foam figure trays in New Zealand. They're exactly the same size as GW's trays too, at half the price . He sells them directly from his website, I've also done a kind of mini review on my blog. *Definitely* worth checking out for the serious gamer.

I've bought two so far, might pick another two up shortly too. I figure we've got such a smaller modelling community here in NZ we should all support each other!

Next time you buy some, don't forget to tell him about the board.

I particularly like the potential to buy 1 or 2 cases then buy extra trays for figures so you can just pull them out as you need them pop them in the case and away you go. It would help significantly in organising a collection.
Of course the down side is that something like my Skaven army would require 10 trays to house the whole thing...

Yeah, Think about how your resident horde army collect feels, 200 skaven, 250 orks, even my marines approach horde status with 100 bloodangels, 40 spacewolves and another 50 or so clasic metals that will become scythes of the emperor i think.
I would think i had an addiction problem if it didnt take me so long to buy them all =]

If you contact him now I reckon you'd get them by this weekend. Postal delivery in New Zealand is usually 2-3 days between islands. I'd email Erwin directly via his website.

I don't think so, not really related to my line of business.

Yeah I wonder how he's cutting the trays (not that I really care...just curious). From emails he's suggested he's invested a bit of time and $$$ so I figure maybe some kind of commerical, press, die foam cutting tool is involved!

Perforated foam like that isn't hard to come by, you can get it from places that make component cases, photography suppliers and that sort of thing.

Hmm I'll order some this afternoon - how many models does each tray hold?
And if they don't arrive by conquest I'll just go with my original packing plan - box of shredded paper.. I mean ah.. who would do that.....?

36 figures, same as a GW tray. Erwin's is the blue one.
