Things like the Minis Tirith Wall by Games Workshop was resin, its $170 for a wee bit of terrain, but it's the best bloody terrain I've ever seen Ok the sickest piece of terrain has got to be the Imperial Fortress. www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalog/QUATERMASTERS_STORE_WARHAMMER_40K_TERRAIN_7.html625 pounds!! but its big, that tank in the middle is a super-heavey tank the small one on the left is a normal GW tank. I wonder if they have ever sold any?

whoa. I see they ship it express at no additional charge, in that case i'll take two!!
but really if I was able to fork out that kind of money I'd rather be investing it in the equipment to create my own moulds than buy an already created piece

Hmm, I'd never looked at that forgeworld site before.
Doesn't it piss you off when you invest hours and $$$ producing something only to find GW have already done it.
Apart from the "diorama bases" I counted half a dozen things on that page that i have already made or have under construction.
Today's lesson is "marketing 101 - Do your product research BEFORE you develop your products."
Opinions on my pricng please; GW do 4 x 25mm for 3GBP and 4 x 40mm for 6 GBP. Mine are $5 a pack, with 5 x 25mm or 3 x 40mm per pack.

Your pricing's great. When I actually get some $$$ I'll probably get some of those floorboard bases.

I know it's not like me to self promote, but I've got a no reserve auction running for the bases at the moment. Good opportunity to get a pack cheap!
And by the way, my wife, who lurks, wonders if that's you in your pic?

... pulling out small bits from my ball of working putty and stretching them out til they're thin enough. Have you tried rolling it out?

i find pulling them works nicely. I work with it pretty soft and just use my thumb to stroke the putty out into a long tongue shape, also has the effect of getting a thin edge on it rather than a cut edge, which i'd have to do if i rolled it. I just press the tongue shape to the tail then cut it with my fingernail and press the scale in. Only tools I've used for his so far was a teaspoon handle to press the tops of the scale in, that was until i worked out i could do it with my finger and cover up the fingerprints with the next row of scales. It gets me a more random shaping too

Ah yes the joys of New Zealand. Yeah, 'tis a hard life down in the colonies. By hard I mean it's hard to decide where to go, the GW that's 15 minutes away, the GW that's 30 minutes a way or the independant stockist that's 10 minutes away and covers some reaper models.

Yeah, we aren't part of New Zealand, we [glow=red,2,300]are[/glow] New Zealand. Don't try to fool me by telling me their is life past them hills. Coming up with crazy names, Waiuku, Petone, Wellington. Hah, you really expect me to believe there is a place called Wellington. All lies.
