after actually testing this a bit i have decided to drop the tornadoes and try typhoons instead.i find they are wicked but have to short a range and end up being in range of pretty much every thing and with thier low armour they do not really make it through the game alive so i am hoping the typhoons wil preform better.trial and error will show!!

Looks like a solid list to me, good mix of troops and vehicles. I don't really like landspeeders personally, although the 24" move can be useful to capture objectives.
Sounds good overall though

i include them because i include in my army what i think looks cool not what is actually good and i think landspeeders are so cool so no matter how they preform i will incluse at least one.i have also decided to add an extra marine to each squad instead of the hunter killer missile on the rhinos and am thinking about the 4 tactiacl squads with heavy weapons?i am not so sure about them and might replace them with an assault squad and a tactical squad with bolters.this is becuase i am still learning the capibilities of diiferent units and my friend has heaps of marines so i am free to try and learn before i completely decide. the above list was written with only a few games experience behind it and so is changing with each newly learnt capibilities.tactaical squads are so good they can take such a beating and still dish a bit out themseves
as for good mix i was suprised i got so much into 1500p.seeing all the armies in white dwarves tend to go for more exspensive items(terminators, landraiders, assault marines, devestators)so i was rather happy with it on paper but i found it is not quite working the way i want it to and so i am going to swap stuff round mix and match and see what the roll of the dice brings!

try set up some scare tactics with ya landspeeders, set some typhoons in a area where they watch a vital gap on the field to scare bugs etc, i had a similar thing pulled on me a battle cannon watching vital areas to stop my troops from advancing, and use one to hide or "stay safe" and use him as a backup daring tactic or pull him out last turn to take an objective

i play against eldar and traitor guard for the book.will give it a go but i am going to totally change my list as the armies i play against have no vechicles(hardly any way)and i have quite a bit of anti tank wepons that never see use!i did not think landspeeders could take objectives?

just looking at the list again and im just seeing some minor flaws
if your gonna give your lord that expensive one lightning claw your best to give him a decent shooty gun as he cant get the 2 ccw bonus so try out a storm bolter 5pts 24" range str 4 ap 5 assault 2
also that lightning claw is 25 points for your leader whilst a pair to get an extra attack is only 30 so that'd also be an investment if you were to do that however it'd probably be advised to give him a jump pack and maybe termy honours so he can move fast and hit hard. it takes away his shooty side so i dont know your views on that.
also with the enemies your fighting a heavy flamer would be a good asset. aspect warriors storm troopers etc flame hits automatically wound on 2+ no armour or cover saves
plasma cannon and lascannons take some effectiveness away from your troops who have awesome weapons against your foes ap 5 rapid fire to be specific. since theyre only 24" max and 12" if you wanna rapid fire your guys will wanna move closer and get into range. so obviously such long ranged heavy weapons will prevent this unless you'll get them moving which then wastes the range points of it. heavy bolters are cheap handy things to have strong and effective and go well with bolter squads and are good at killing guard and eldar. multi melta is good to have in bolter squads due to the range but as you say there isnt many tanks you fight. flamers would be a better cheaper choice for your squads as they again excel at guard and eldar.
combine smaller squads to beef up numbers so if ya get charged ya have a fighting chance and then ya have some more focused fire power.
also the vehicles i like, wat would be awesome to see if youve got any free points would be a 5 man devastor squad with 4 missile launchers. so ya can sit them way back, they have anti tank (krak str 8 ap 3) and anti infantary (frag str4 ap6) that way theyre a flexible unit and you'll have enough anti tank throughout your force whilst still packing lotsa anti infantry.
as for your leader. its up to you your configeration, it depends wat purpose you have in store for him really, if ya want help with him tell me his purpose and ill think something up

recommendations and noted and will most very likely being applied.i relixed last time i played the heavy weapons were limiting my movement and effectiveness and so was planning to change them i like the devestator squad idea.as for commander i like the idea but i was thinking last night i might put him in terminator armour with a terminator command squad.but that idea of yours with the jump pack is a good one you are almost teasing me with so many good options!!

nice, that captain idea was just to try give him some real purpose, at the moment my only hq is a codicer (cheap librarian) and swaped his storm of the emporers wrath (12" range str4 ap2 blast.. i think) with fear of the dark makes every enemie unit within 12" takes a leadership at -2 ld. so i gave him termy armour so he can deep strike then use the power upon arrival. and i gave him a storm bolter one to take up a hand and also to give him a shooting attack if a he's not in range of power or be is in range but the units arent effected. captain's unique ness is convering Ld so ya wanna fork out for the top guy, his purpose should never be kamikazi as he's at best use when alive. maybe give him some cheap wargear and either give him a command squad or get him to march allow side another squad. or thee alternative give him termy armour for added protection and maybe adament mantle if you can afford it stops lascannons instant killing ya then his weapons can range as he can stand on his own. personnalise him and have fun

wat you need my friend is a program called army builder. its like perfectly created for making army's, its wat i use to make mine, it also has a "neato" (lol) funtion to save it as a full text type up or a text summary thats why my army post is formatted the way it is, i should have a look round for the cd and send it your way. its also useful if ya plan to go to tournaments as in the full text it gives all weapons profiles and basic rules on all wargear and points costs of wargear etc etc etc it has a few glitches in certain area's glitches as in it sometime lets you do things that you cant, it also has a little function that tells you if its all legal and then tells you wats wrong. it can be used for any wargaming army you just download a different set of rules. so let me know if you want it

give him a jump pack and maybe termy honours so he can move fast and hit hard. it takes away his shooty side so i dont know your views on that. i though that he would come with terminator honours being a commander?so i have to pay for those now??
