Hmm not sure. The whole army or your main elite units?
They're pretty hard aren't they +1T and fearless? Ive always liked the nurgle rules, plaque swords toughness bonus' diseased it's all effective on the battlefield.
Expensive too though.
I reckon if you can handle using a slightly smaller force (personally I need lots of models to make up for tactical blunders!) and you enjoy painting and modelling in that colour scheme/style then go for it. You cant really go wrong so long as you've got a range of units for different tactical situations.
Maybe some armies are easier/harder to play but once you get used to them they're all able to win just make sure they match your style of play.

the whole army, the mark of nurgle confers +1 T and makes them fearless and gives them true grit, so the basic guy has 2 attacks, 19pts each, aspiring champions upgrade for free etc

Yeah you cant really argue with that... just remember you dont get the +1A for charging, but then thats no big deal cause armed with bolters you'll probably be shooting rather than charging. Could give your opponent a nasty suprise if he didn't know they had true grit... actually the more I think about it the more I like it!
The other good point is you'd need to get less models = cheaper!

Yeah and nurgle has awesome wargear, like manreaper which is a 2 handed power weapon and gives the bearer +1 attack against a single model or +D6 attacks against 2 or more and a plague sword which is a power weapon and if the model is wounded by it and still lives on a 4+ they are slain outright
