This turned up recently, and we thought it was some sort of diver's compass, but google turned up a bit of info.
Turns out it's a Luftwaffe Paratrooper Armbandkompass AK39. These are quite rare, issued to paratroopers (obvioulsy) but not all paratroopers, just those on special operations. They're aren't too many many of them around, especially not in this condition.
It's up on ebay if anyone wants to treat themself.
