And yes, I am an ideas man who, well comes up with ideas....anyway here is a boardgame I have been working on. It is a mixture of Risk and axis and allies, (Or a simple Axis and allies, or a slightly advance version of risk).
„« Start: divide territories between players using territory cards.
„« Place one army model on each of your territories.
„« Dealer gives $4,000 dollars to each player.
„« Each roll a dice, highest roll starts.
„« On a players turn, they may buy villages, bunkers, and military units. They may also invade enemy territory.
„« Each player can place as many armies on any of their territories. The limit of armies per territory is 0 ¡V 15
Purchasing Military units
One army (Model) costs $50. The military can only be trained when a Village (Food and Manpower) and a bunker (Cheap military training) has been built.
Purchasing buildings
A player on their turn may purchase buildings to gain the benefits of the particular buildings. There are four types of building you can purchase:
Village, Cost $150, Villages allow a player to train military units and gain income. For every village a player owns, they receive $50 per village. A player must have a minimum of two villages.
If two villages are built on one territory Military units are reduced to $30 each. A maximum of two villages per territory may be built. A total of ten villages may be built over your own territory. If a player¡¦s territory has been overthrown by enemy soldiers, this will allow the player to buy more villages to make up for the recently lost villages.
Bunker, Cost $200, a player must build one of these and a village to train military units. A Bunker gives one defense die when the territory is being invaded. If two bunkers are placed on one territory, this will allow the player to build a Barracks. Building the barracks will replace the two bunkers, but the benefits of having two bunkers will still apply. You may not build any more than 15 bunkers over all of your territory.
Barracks, cost $100, If a player builds a barracks, this reduces the cost of military units down to $10. For each invasion to any territory a player gains one extra die for attacking. If this option is taken, Village cost rises to $250. The barracks
Fortress, Cost $250, this option may only be taken when a player owns an entire continent. A fortress gives 4 defensive die when the continent is being invaded, with or without military troops on the invaded territory. If a territory on a continent is overthrown. Please check Owning a Continent for more information.
Attacking enemy territories
During the game a player will need to invade enemy territory to dominate the world. To invade enemy territory, a player on their turn must declare that what territory they are invading. Your military unit may only invade if the territory they are coming from is adjacent to the player¡¦s territory. Move the armies onto enemy lines. Both players (Attacking and defending) roll their die. For every unit you may roll one die. A player can roll up to 5 die (One for every unit).
Every territory conquered gets you $200 plus everything that was on the conquered territory before the invasion
In the case of a player going bankrupt; they lose the game. All of the losing player¡¦s territories are neutral and are free to anyone who gets to them first. No fighting is required to gain these territories.
If a player owns no territories, they lose.
Ports
If a player owns a territory that has a port attached, they may use it to travel and attack other territories with ports. The port will need people and supplies to get it going, so a village is necessary to activate a port. To travel using a port a $50 fuel cost will need to be paid to travel to another port. If a ship is not owned (See below) you may only travel between ports.
Ships
Ships can be brought at the cost of $3500 each. Ships can transport military units between ports and any costal destinations. The limit of military units on a ship is 15 units. Attacking a territory using a ship gives the player an extra attack roll. To travel to a random costal territory, it will cost $75.00 on a ship
Buying Land
If a player needs money, they can sell their territory as an auction or trade with another player. Once the trade is complete, the seller has to remove the buildings (Unless apart of the trade) and re-buy them for other territories.
Owning a Continent
If a player owns a continent, they can buy a fortress. A fortress costs $250. A fortress gives 4 defensive attacks when another player enters the continent. If one piece of land from the continent is taken by the enemy, the fortresses will stops working permanently. The defender no longer owns the fortress. If the continent is regained, the player must buy a new fortress at the price of $50. You may build a fortress on the turn after owning a territory
Alliances
If permission is granted by the other players, people may ally with another player. If a player needs to move through allied territory to reach their own territory, they may do so in the recruitment phase (Maximum of two allied territories). A player doing this must land on their own territory and not the allied territory. An allied team may not ask for aid from their friends if they need help.
Summary
„« Each player starts with $4,000
„« To buy a military unit, you need a bunker and a village on one territory. A military unit costs $50 each.
„« Buying more than one village will earn you more money every turn ($50 per village).
„« Buying two bunkers will allow you to build a barracks. A barracks reduces the cost of units to $10 and you get one extra attack die bonus for every invasion
„« If a territory has a port, build a village to activate it. A trip to another port costs $50. A ship may be brought to give access to any coast line on the board for $75
„« A player may buy or sell territory.
„« If a player owns a continent they may buy a fortress. A fortress gives four extra defense attacks when enemy cross the continent borders. A fortress costs $250
„« Every territory conquered the winning player gains $200.
There is also other rules I am adding such as, if a player loses 50% of their territory in one turn they lose the game (Freak out and retreat).
I also need to come up with a name as my original (Domination) has been taken by a Domino game that is being sold as we speak.
Tell me what you think. I am having a few practise games to see if the rules are successful and playable without major loop holes.
Thanks
