Good for you!
If that's entirely scratchbuilt you got a steal. Unfortunate for the seller tho I have to admit

not bad price!!i think it is worth about $400-600 nz dollars.it was scratch built by him my frieb=nd happens to know him resonably well through gaming and tells me its awesome.he asked forge world for thier plans and uesd them so it is very accurate(apparently)but what the heck for $70 its a score as far as i know(i am not paying for it anyway)but i will have to face it!!

Aye, I reckon thats a good price... I did see it come up for sale but cant say it was particularly my cup of tea.
I feel sorry for the guy selling it as he must have put in masses of time and effort but I guess its better to have $60 than a tank you dont use sitting on your shelf.
At least if you are selling a model like that you know its going to go to someone who really wants it for what it is.

Looks very nice! I can spot what looks like a set of 1/72 tracks and drive wheels...from a Panzer? Or Tiger maybe?
Definitely a good price for it. I take it your mate is an Imperial Guard player then Burbsee? Good on him, we need more Guard!

i dont think there is any 1/72 in there it would be way to small for this thing.it was built to the right dementions so i would have to presume they are bigger than that.i am currently working on a 1/35 scale tiger tank(man it is awesome)and comparing them to my landraider tracks right now theyare about 3mm wider.so in the light of the shawowsword being bigger than the landraider it could be 1/35 scale tracks!
as for being a guard player he has accumalated most armies over the years(though so much is unassembled ) but his favorite army is guard and the various tanks accompanying it but he also loves marines(what 40k player dont??).one day he hopes to scratch build a thunderhawk gunship so that will be cool!!

1/35 Tiger sounds like fun . I play North African NZers in Flames of War...Tigers scare me. There are some nice scratch built 40k Thunderhawks on the internet to be sure. Never tried scratch building anything other than terrain myself.

I like scratching vehicles myself, but if that's all they sell for It's not worth my time auctioning them. Just have to carry on building stuff to collect dust on my shelf. I've still not finished my steam gatling carriage, might have to get cracking on that.

well this arrived this morning and codemonkee i think he did use 1/72 scale tracks he has just stuck 3 lines of them-all the same just the middle line has been reversed to give a different look.it is preety cool and looks so easy to make (the bottom was never finished he just built a shell around it but none of that is visible.im impressed with his work!!
