They're my biggest time waster after the models. If anyone's keen I'll set up a comics section to the ever increasing un-wieldy behemoth we have here. Mainly cos I've got some to get rid of that I'd rather try and swap than sell.
So if anyone's up for it let me know.

Time wasters ? you have time to wast ? , I thought you had a family and a business to run ! I used to read Heavy metal , but now all my spare money goes on models still not won lotto surprise! , and of course White Dwarf each month it comes out . So what sort of comics do you read ? sadly have sent mine to my cousins might buy one read and then swap ?

(I haven't got a family, unless you count the dog)

Moebius? Metal Hurlant (the French Heavy Metal...I think it came first though)? I used to have a bunch of them.
Heavy Metal is an interesting comic, they quite often feature European artist's work with translated captioning. I got into a few Italian comic artists that way. Particularly the gentleman that created 'Rank Xerox' although I forget his name.
Ahhhh and let us not forget 'classic' 2000 AD of the 70's. I fondly remember the adventures of the original O'Neill 'Nemesis'/'Torquemada' and good old Rogue Trooper.
I've still got a stack of Manga (Masamune Shirow) and most of the early-mid 'Cerebus the Aardvark' comics.

I picked up some cerebus for a dollar each recently.
The only good thing about france is their comics. heavy metal is basically metal hurlant translated. that's what is so good about it, it's really hard to get comics in english any other way. The downside is they often red like they've been translated by babel fish. Another peeve is that you generally only get one part of a grahic novel or whatever printed in HM, then never see the rest again. I've got a list as long as my arm of strips I've seen in hm that I'd like to read more of.
Got all the old original nemesis, and it scares me way more now than it ever did when I was a kid. kev o neill should have been locked up long ago. see his league of extraordinary gentlemen to see what alan moore actually had in mind before that film of the same name.

All right where do I send self addressed large envelopes , 2 to get comics ? and do I need to swap comics I have read ?, is there a new area I have not seen ? I wish the local Librarie had comics they have a lot of Terry Pratchett books (but I have not noticed any L space distortion's unless you count time slippage (that is generally advantageous anyway ) ;D )

A friend of mine has expressed an interest in comics along the lines of Johnny the Homicidal Maniac & was wondering whereabouts (in auckland if possible) you would you get them from?

I'm into the CLASSIC "the Amazing Spiderman" , not the newer types.
In fact, I'm going to Armageddon in two weeks, woohoo.

Armageddon is always good for a spot of alternative pop culture.
I'll probably be taking my 2 year old son along for a look around.
