Damn these are nice figures. I may have to splash out on some for myself.

Wow looks nice , if you want some you could try asking Pirate Wench , she put me onto the web site , but I'm sure she could hook you up with Brook Smith in Auckland and get him to give you a good discount (or i could oops . . . will personal message rest ) official secrets and all that . yes they are Rackham models as imported and sold in New Zealand , by I think Wargames Supply wargames.co.nz but I could be wrong PW?

And one final bad pic of the finished chick-a-dees; Hopefully when the owner receives them he'll post here and tell us all how much better they look in the flesh

Knowing how bad figures photograph generally unless you've got multiple daylight sources and multiple daylight bulbs pointed at them and a white background with a decent digital camera I reckon those ladies probably look quite good 'in the flesh'

I don't mind admitting they do, particularly since they are basic jobs (in theory)

Off white, like yellow or cream works better for getting reflected light on your figures (so I've been told), though I half expect light blue would be nicer for figures.
I usually use cork tile these days. it reflects a nice matt light

Looking at that pic again, I can't even work out what angle I took it at. That's supposedly my studio in the background, but I don't even recognise it.

the back view is nice !, which is the view of my army I mostly sea - when playing a rear game , but I always seam to paint more detail on the front , which I seldom see in a game ( and end up thinking gee that unit needs a touch up ! ) when from the front it looks fine ! ;D

That's a point I never considered before!
Whenever you play, you hopefully spend more time looking at the backs of your troops as they advance; I'm going to have to start spending more time painting the backs!
